The bezana granadillo wood capricho castanet was born following the advice of the great concert performer Mar Bezana, by professionals for professionals. This model belongs to our top range of castanets. Its production is 100% handmade with beech wood, to which a stain is applied, in order to achieve an appearance similar to Granadillo. The cutting of this type of wood is completely controlled and certified by organisations dedicated to that purpose. In this way we can make sure that you’re buying an environmentally friendly item. This type of wood gives the castanet a fine and harmonic sound that manages to surprise its listeners. You must keep in mind that being natural wood, you may find that the castanets are not completely uniform and the grain pattern will be distinct on each one.
This model has the engraving of our brand JUAN VELA SEVILLA. It is characterised by being the lightest castanet in all the ranges. Its round shape eases playing, fitting better in the hand. The Bezana granadillo wood castanets are made with a normal soundbox.
Their handmade production allows each professional to acquire a personal and unrepeatable sound. All of the models can be chosen with a point or without a point on the top part of the soundbox, which doesn’t affect the sound, but allows you to personalise the castanet to your liking. This model includes our special case, available in 10 colours, handmade with faux leather, a fleece lined interior and metal clasps.
