We make handcrafted professional castanets with experience and innovation. Our story dates back to the sixties and it is full of important discoveries like the double soundbox and grained black fibre.

At Castañuelas del Sur we always adapt to the needs of the professional. Therefore, for the creation of some of our models, we follow the advice of concert performers like Consol Grau and Mar Bezana.

In addition, many of our pieces have ended up in the hands of great eminent flamenco and dance artists like Antonio the Dancer, María Rosa, Mariemma, Pilar de Oro and Alfredo Gil, Enrique “El Cojo”, Realito, Jose Antonio, Aída Gómez, Matilde Coral and the great castanet concert performer Jose de Udaeta.

All of our professional castanets are handmade and have a special case to guarantee better conservation. Made with faux leather on the exterior, fleece lining on the interior and metal clasps.
