These castanets are made with beech wood, to which a stain is applied, in order to achieve an appearance similar to Granadillo. The cutting of this type of wood is completely controlled and certified by organisations dedicated to that purpose. In this way we can make sure that you’re buying an environmentally friendly item. This type of wood gives the castanet a fine and harmonic sound that manages to surprise its listeners. You must keep in mind that being natural wood, you may find that the castanets are not completely uniform and the grain pattern will be distinct on each one.
Consol Grau granadillo wood castanets were born from our desire to adapt to the needs of the professional. Their design was made under the advice of the great concert performer Consol Grau, for classical music. Their sound is high-pitched but also, thanks to this advice, many nuances can be easily obtained. This model is only made with a normal soundbox.
The point on the top part of the soundbox can be taken off if desired. This modification does not influence the sound, only the aesthetic of the castanet. In addition, you can personalise them selecting the string and case colour that accompany the castanets. Regarding the case, it should be noted that they are handcrafted with faux leather, fleece lining and metal clasps. This model is only made with a normal soundbox.
Castanets without a point are non-refundable.
